Reading and writing progress
We track your progress to help you learn:
- Books on your shelf and currently active book
- Day count within each book
- Total words written
- Completed passages and writing hooks
- Last session date
Reading and writing sessions
When you complete a session, we store:
- The passage you read and the hook you responded to
- Your written text (first attempt and any revisions)
- AI-generated feedback including corrections, suggestions, and scores
- Session timestamps
What we do NOT collect
We do not collect:
- Email addresses or personal contact information
- Device identifiers used for advertising
- Location data
- Third-party tracking or behavioral analytics
How we use your information
We use the information we collect solely to:
- Provide personalized feedback on your writing
- Track your reading and writing progress
- Show you insights about your practice patterns
AI-powered feedback
Storica uses artificial intelligence (OpenAI) to provide feedback on your writing. Your written content is sent to OpenAI's API to generate corrections and suggestions. We do not use your writing content to train AI models. Your writing is processed solely to provide you with immediate feedback.
Payments and subscriptions
Subscription payments are handled entirely by Apple App Store (iOS), Google Play Store (Android), and RevenueCat. We do not collect or store any payment information. Any email address or payment details you provide during subscription are collected and managed by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat according to their respective privacy policies.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely using Firebase (Google Cloud). We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access.
Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account exists. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google) — anonymous authentication and database storage
- OpenAI — AI-powered writing feedback
- RevenueCat — subscription management (may collect email for receipts)
